I am lucky enough to live right around the corner from Mt. Healthy hatcheries & I was also lucky enough to get chickies for my 1 year wedding anniversary! When the guy at the hatchery came out with my box, he had a squirmy brown chick in his hand. After he opened my box & showed me what was what, he put the brown chicken in, "in case something happens." He told me I would know when she layed because she would lay a white egg. Could this be?? I thought she was an EE but I wanted to confirm that. Also, her behavior is sort of strange, she's more developed than the rest & she "struts"---we were concerned that Chicken Sally might just be a roo...At only 3 weeks, I know its too young but any thoughts on that would be appreciated?? So--is she an EE pullet???

She's on the far right in this pic:

An EE should have slate gray legs -- a brown leghorn should have yellow-orange legs -- there's really no mistaking them even if the rest of their body shape and feather coloring is similar. He/she/it is very cute.
