If he doesn't have any other ducks to mate with yeah it certainly could be that. I'd get him some non-muscovy females if I were you, he will have an easier time bonding with them since they speak the same language unlike the muscovies.

Also not sure if you only have 1 muscovy total, but if you do you should also get another Muscovy or 2 to be friends with her

We used to have a male Muscovy who kept our Pekin company, but he passed away around 3 months ago. That's why we got a new duck, to keep our Pekin company, hoping it would be female (so that we could get eggs . Well, it turns out we got a muscovy duckling, who is indeed appearing to be female. I'll send pictures of her tomorrow . Unfortunately, we didn't know about how aggresive drakes can be with females, and our Pekin Duck, Lulu (we were told he was female before we bought him to he ended up with a girl name) was never a gentleman to begin with. He's always been pretty territorial and snappy. When we got Lulu, we got her to keep our first Muscovy company (since his partner who was his age had died), and we didn't know about the language barrier between these two types of ducks. Luke, the name of our Muscovy male, was terrified of Lulu at first, and Lulu would chase him around when he was little. However, as Lulu grew up, they began to become friends, and were always close to each other. They fought for things like food, but were overall buddies and were always together. So since Lulu has experience living with Muscovies, we figure language and difference of breed shouldn't be too much of a problem? Also, I heard Pekins can breed with Muscovies but the offpspring is sterile. Their difference of age is of approximately 18 months. Could Rose, our new Muscovy breed with Lulu? Or is the age difference too high?

Once ducks hit maturity they can breed with other mature ducks. Muskovies and Pekins can breed, but the offspring will be sterile. They will hang out together looking to form a flock. But if you give them more of their own kind. They will probably separate into flocks with their own kind..

Well, I've tried to dominate our Pekin and it seems to work in getting him to stop coming over and biting, although his agressive behaviour towards Rose (our Muscovy) continues. I haven't been able to take a pic of Rose yet, but I will try to get a pic as soon as possible

Glad it worked in getting him to stop attacking you. As long as that muscovy is the only female you have he will most likely continue the aggressive behavior. Maybe you could separate them until you get a few more females?

They are currently next to each other, but separated as they have different homes. Lulu lives in his coop, and Rose currently lives in a clothes barket readapted to suit her. I have considered getting at least one new female, but I would like that to be more of a last resort type of situation as I don't have much room, and may not have the time to take care of three ducks or more. I am thinking of keeping them together but physically separated until Rose is at an age in which she can mate with him at least once. Maybe this will calm him down for a bit since he is no longer suppresng his desire to mate?

Also Lulu starts bitting his bowl of food, and starts doing weird poses next to it. He moves his wings down and starts bitting the bowl incessantly. Anyone know what he is doing?
