I have a year old bantam rooster whose eye is very swollen. I gently rinsed off the outside with peroxide and got his lid open to relieve the pressure of the pus. I have him quarantined in the house. I’m assuming his eye got injured by another rooster. I have no idea what else to do. I’ve never had a chicken’s eye this swollen or injured. Any advice will be appreciated. Thank you.

You can probably buy ophthalmic antibiotic ointment at the feed store -- in a tiny tube for aorund $10. You can also use plain brand name Neosporin ointment in an eye, yours included. I would put some in his eye, just a tiny bit, at the bottom of the eye, once or twice a day for several days.

Thank you so much! I have the ointment needed but wasn't sure about it around/in the eye.. His eye is already improving just with what I done so far.
