I have a 4-5 month old Easter pullet (my fav chicken for sure), and recently my flock had a case of dry fowl pox. The Easter Egger got a few spots around her eyes, and because she has a really feathery face, they started getting so irritated that one of her eyes was almost swollen shut and had lots of discharge.
I started using terramycin a couple of days ago, and it’s certainly improving. But I’ve had to isolate her from the others because they were pecking at the wounds.
How long does it typically take for terramycin to heal a moderately wounded eye, and is there anything else I can do?
She’s still eating and drinking and otherwise acting normal (aside from not liking being separated). She’s been injured/sick for about 3-4 days.
