Hello all,
I haven't posted here but twice, but I know there is a lot of knowledge to be found here so I thought I would ask for your help.
I have a 9 month old Barred Rock hen that I noticed is keeping one eye closed, and she seems to be a little off (as in she acts like she doesn't feel well). She is eating, but just stands with her head under her wing most of the time. After picking her up and looking closely at the eye, it doesn't appear to be infected, however I have noticed her shaking her head & scratching at it & it is running. For the most part, she keeps her eyelid closed, but she can open it and when she does it looks like an inner eye lid is partially covering her eye. This is the best I can describe the situation. As much of the bad eye as I can see appears to be normal looking, and isn't cloudy like it would be if she was blind.
Opinions from experts are needed here, as to what if anything I can do for her, or would it be best to just leave alone. Thanks much in advance.

Agreed that pictures would be helpful. It does sounds like she may have a respiratory disease, such as mycoplasma (MG,) causing conjunctivitis and sinus infection. Signs can be head shaking, watery or foamy eyes, scratching at eyes. Does she have any sneezing or nasal drainage? If you don't mind using antibiotics, you could get Tylan50 injectable at your feed store. Dosage is 0.2 ml per pound twice a day for 5 days. I would give it orally, but it can also be given as an injection into muscle. If you have access to vet care, they may be able to help you. You also may want to use a small dot of Terramycin eye ointment in her eye twice daily after cleaning it with saline.
