Hello everyone,
I am new to having chickens.... I have a problem with some chickens and eye problems. I started out weeks ago with one chicken with what appeared to be an eye infection, i treated it with some Cipro and it cleared up. the chicken only had one eye affected. It had like a sleepy eye that was matted shut. Now weeks later I have several chickens with the same problem. These chickens don't exhibit any other symptoms. It is only affecting one eye. It is starting to get to be a chore to put Cipro in each chickens eye.
What I am wondering is if this is a symptom of a greater problem. I don't see any other problems or symptoms with these birds. I did not know if this is a common problem and if there is an antibiotic that i can treat the whole flock with. I am so frustrated.
I am sure someone has had tohave had this problem, I accept all knowledge and info on this problem, please help.. thanks.
