Eye Problem

This chick is now 4 weeks old. He has had an eye issue since birth. Even the feathers around his eye are weird. I tried duramycin-10. Didn't really do anything. The chick seems perfectly fine. He's in very close proximity with other chicks and none of them have this issue. Could it be a deformity? Thoughts?

Maybe I'm missing something. I don't see a real issue with the eye.

The eye was constantly leaking and was very mucousy. The feathers around the eye were always wet and hard. He did grow up to be fine but his eye still looked like crap. None of my other chickens had or developed this problem.

Have you tried using opthamalic ointment?

Any sneezing or nasal drainage? It could be a respiratory illness.

yes i have tried opthalmic ointment. No luck. Tested for respiratory illness. Results negative. No sneezing and no nasal drainage. Only drainage is from the eye. It's only one eye too not both.

Could be a type of birth defect. he may or may not grow out of. You can try using all natural collidal silver in the eye to see if that helps. I use it for my birds eyes its wonderful. However if it is a sort of birth defect as I supect then there is not really much you can do.its very possible she will outgrow it. Hopefully.
