We have a 6 month old jersey giant rooster. About 1.5 weeks ago we noticed he was closing one eye and when he did open it it was looking a purplish color but No blood. We had been using vetericyn for the last week. We thought it was healing up and now he keeps it open all the time but it’s looking more like a tan color…making us think cataracts. Is that a think in chicken? Could he have lost sight in his eye from being pecked?
His behavior is normal…maybe a a bit more skiddish due to not being able to see well but overall his normal self. Any ideas or ways I can help him?
