Still new to this posting thing. One of my chickens ( 5 months) was attacked by one of my neighbors chickens. Her eye was in bad shape all scarred over, and we've kept her warm and safe in the coop.
Today I noticed her eye looks much better but has that weird white stringy thing on it. My husband said it reminds him of a parasite.
Anyone have any idea or have seen this before?

Eyeworms are no longer than 3/4 inch to 1 inch long. Could it be healed scared tissue? Gently try pulling it out, then apply neosporin in her eye.
I wish I could tell for sure. It's really bothering her :( I did find a photo that looks the same and it was called Mansons Eyeworm. I worry I'm not doing enough and the vet doesn't see chickens.
