Jay stumbled, blindly aware of her surroundings. her face hurt so bad. She could hear the squawks of alarm, but couldn't really focus on where they were coming from.

Feather was about to kick the moss ball back, when all of a sudden he heard squawks of alarm coming form the flock behind him.

Eerie immediately gathered the chicks under her wings, surprised at how natural it felt.
“Toad!“ she hissed, panic tightening her chest. “Who is that with Jay?”

Toad looked at the newcomer through slitted eyes. he felt his hackles rise. And he suddenly felt a need to protect Eerie and the chicks. Toad back up beside Eerie and growled "I'm not sure, but he better not have hurt Jay!" Anger hardened his voice.
