Eerie slumped down under a tree, her eyes glassy. Why would he do that? She thought sadly.

Fang walked around the tree. Poor Eerie obviously had something on her mind. Fang intentionally stepped on a stick to see if Eerie would look around. Fang didn't want to do the classic "Did you ever killed somebody" if Eerie was having trouble with something.
