"Ok." Ruby replied as she watched Daffy come over. She stood up and looked at her egg, moving it around again. She sat back down and realized that the broody instincts were coming back to her. "Hey Daffy. What do you think about me raising another brood?" She asked her best friend.
Daffy finally made it to the nest. She sat down next to Ruby. "I don't know. Seems like a lot of work," she said bluntly. She rearranged the nesting materials in front of her.

"Not really. It wasn't so hard the first time I did it, except for the running away part." She laughed. "Although, it was hard to watch them all die.." She said sadly.

Raven was just about to sun himself when he heard a strangled noise from behind a bush just outside camp, then rustling. He went over to grab a few berries from a nearby bush, then returned to the place he had been standing before. The bush was quiet now. He decided it had just been a squirrel, and was about to move on when he saw a glint of red. Human trash? He wondered. He walked a little closer, eyeing it suspiciously.
But no, human trash didn't pool and run across the ground. He raced around the corner of the bush, but it was too late. Robin's eyes were glazed over in death, staring blankly at the blue sky. Raven screeched in horror. Every bird in camp heard it.

Jay walked into the woods, following a peaceful stream, when all of a sudden she heard small chirps coming from a bush. Jay made her way closer to the bush and was astonished to see, chicks! "What are you doing here." She asked shocked. There were two, black and white, one had black feet and legs, while the other had white feet and legs. They both stared at her. Jay suddenly felt an instinct to protect them. She shook it off and looked back at the chicks small but hopeful eyes. The one with blacklegs was a male, the one with white legs was a female. "Where's mommy." The black legged one asked, his voice small but determined. "I don't know." Jay whispered, falling in love. She settled in the nest, and the two chicks went underneath her wings, shivering. When was the last time they saw their mother, she thought.
