Ruby watched. She was in love with Fern's chicks. She scooted over to the chicks that were on her back. "Hi, cuties," She said in the sweetest, most gentle voice she could do.

Fern nuzzled her chicks. Another egg had pipped now. Fern stood up to check it, and Moon jumped off her back, running over and cheeping at Ruby.
