Fern snuggled with her chicks, hoping Sparrow wasn’t nearby. She was sitting with them in her burrow. Raven was sleeping, basically invisible, in the shadowy back of her burrow.

Daffy pushed her egg out quickly. It was smaller than the last egg she had laid. She ran out of the burrow and began her egg call.

Flipper walked in awkwardly and asked, "did it all go well?"

Toad moved over a little, his feathers still brushing hers, and giggled softly to himself.

"Well, I am laying an egg." She chuckled then squawked. Her egg came out after another push. It was definitely not as big as normal but it was not as small as last time. She looked at at it.

“Phew,” Percy was glad that it was more normal looking.
