Galen hit the ground hard, skidding a bit before soaring into the air above Jasper. He aimed a stream of fire at his right wing in an attempt to ground him.

Sensing the intense heat, Jasper left, tucking his right wing in just in time to avoid the fire. He angled his body upwards and with a few powerful strokes his wings, found himself cannoning upwards towards Galen. At the last moment he rolled backwards so his talons were extended and snagged Galen in them, letting himself fall and dragging Galen along. Just before they hit the ground he twisted his body so that he was on top of Galen and smashed into the ground, using Galen to break his fall.

Squirming out from beneath Jasper after burning the tender, unprotected flesh on his gut, Galen shot up and ripped his talons through Jasper's right wing, deeming him nearly flightless.

"Depends on what attacked you and how hurt you are, really. If it had been a bear or such and you were near death, I'd just crush your head to end your suffering. But you don't look that bad; maybe a broken wing."

Jasper met it with his own ball of fire, sending it and his own back towards Galen with a large explosion which sent him flying up against the side of the mountain.

"Thank you for that, actually; you simply made the signal larger." As he said so, two streaks of green appeared nearby, coming towards them quickly.
