Memories raced through his mind;
There he was, peering through the dew-covered grasses at midnight. The field was softly illuminated by moonlight, he was to wait until a cloud covered the moon before he struck. Ah, closer, just a little closer! The ground around him faded to black, he looked up, and the moon was gone. He lept over the tall bushes and into the pebble-covered space. There were four of them, big, black, frightening and covered in one of their victim's blood. Under the gaze of their smiling eyes, was a little emerald dragon, almost as dark as they, but far too young to experience such things."Mama," He called helplessly, he wanted to run but he couldn't. His feet were glued to the ground, one could see the fear in his once innocent eyes. "Here is your mother." One of the monsters said, beckoning a smaller, and more feminine dragon. She, too, did not fit in; she was likely another slave. "Leave the hatchling alone!" She shrieked, "Quiet." Another dragon hushed her. He threateningly raised his enormous barbed tail, she slinked back and held her mouth closed.
