I think the young girls are saying to you "when I get to be your age I want to be happy and explore things I am interested in" in a subliminal sort of way. I used to do camps for kids and most of the girls told me they wanted to be like me when they grew up. It made me really uncomfortable. I was 40, I had lost a great job, had very little income, was in the middle of a divorce and crying miserably on the inside. The camp, playing with horses, solving murder mysteries on horseback, playing games was "the bomb" with them. I also made them handle hognose snakes, use a power drill, and told them they can't count on men for anything and should learn to do as much as they could themselves.
