This is one of the most colorful birds and one of my most favorite roosters I have ever owned. Absolutely gorgeous boy, Blaze.
I believe he is an Ameraucana mix of some kind. He looks pretty close to being a full Ameraucana, but I don't think that is the case especially since I got him from someone who hatched him from a local farmers flock. They weren't sure what breed he was.His feathers are really handsome. What is he? And are those irridescent black feathers or blue/grey feathers?
A very handsome boy. I love blue feathers, too, but I also appreciate some shining irridescence.I believe he is an Ameraucana mix of some kind. They are iridescent black feathers. He is actually similar to a Red Breasted Black pattern but has added colors here and there, such as the gold that shows in certain lighting in his hackles.

This is so hard to capture. My BJG go irridesent green/blue, but my Black Sumatra goes purple, catching him in particular in the right light and at the right time for a shot feels like I'm on a safari.Wow handsome boy!
Cloud cover will give the best chance at getting those iridescent gleams. This is so hard to capture. My BJG go irridesent green/blue, but my Black Sumatra goes purple, catching him in particular in the right light and at the right time for a shot feels like I'm on a safari.
