Facebook question...

I have a facebook. The majority of my friends are people I went to school or church with. The others are family members. A few are from here. And a couple of them, well, I have no earthly idea who they are.

I started out with family only, just as a way to keep in touch and show pictures and stuff that was going on. Before I knew it was being requested by cousins, old class mates, church members and folks I haven't heard from in decades. I felt guilty if I didn't approve the request but I've deleted a few because it seemed like they had no life outside facebook and it annoyed the heck out of me.

you know I must be anti-social as it doesn't bother me to "ignore" anyone, whether it be family or stranger. LOL I only have the people on there I actually want on there. Once I felt kind of "funny" as I have so few people compared to many others but now I am ok with it after reading all the above posts.

I started on FB because of my parents 50th anniversary, it was a way to stay in touch other than email, and an added benefit is I have caught up with High School Friends. I do have a few I don't know from the games, they are friends of friends. I do not add anyone I do not know unless I look at their friends and if someone I know is a friend I always ask that person who they are.

I have some BYC people as friends and I do enjoy FB, it helps keep me connected.

I only allow a friend request if I know the person. All of my friends are either family or people who I grew up with. Apparently there's a girl with my name who went to a high school with the same name as mine, but in a different state, so I've gotten several friend requests from people at that school. I ignored them all. I've unfriended a couple of people, but it's not really been necessary, because I don't let people in unless I want them to know my business.

My facebook is mostly just family but have a couple of friends on as well. Its mainly to catch up on how family members are doing.

Oh, wow, Deb, that must have been uncomforable for you? But you were only stating the truth.

I'm not at all afraid to ignore or unfriend someone. Maybe I am meaner than I thought!

I only have people I know. My family is scattered across the country so its a good way for me to keep up with them or to update people on what's going on in my life and the kids. If I wouldn't tell you about my kids lives in a phone call you won't be on my friend list.
