That is why you pick and choose your family and friends on FB. Any of them are toxic should not be accepted or allowed on your FB page. FB is good in alot of things but bad in others if you let it be.

If it helps, be like our BYC mods, which you can "boot" them off from your FB!

I had a few toxic friends that I knew a while back that I clicked them off and they would email me asking me why...I simply said Personal reasons and click the delete and block button on my email status.

As for the OP and the friend thing. I cut people like this OUT of my life years ago, and that includes family. They will drag you down and you will never pull them up. Think I didn't? My mother would be at my aunts drunk and call me at 2 or 3 am to come and get her. I never would, she would get mad and hang up. One time she was found wandering on a parallel street drunk and looking for my house and was brought to me by the cops. Can anyone wonder why I'm so adamant against the booze. I've never seen it do any good.

So my point. Cut people like this out of your life and fill the void with people like Speckledhen. They make your life better not worse. ( no sucking up here she knows I like her

How many times have we said something out of total honesty and had it come back and bite us? Online conversations only reveal a part of the picture and leave too much for speculation. I talk with my hands alot and that contributes to my meaning as an example.

Can't say I've ever experienced drama on Facebook. My profile is kept blank, I don't allow any of the apps (ie. Allow this app to have access to your page so you can take this cool quiz), and I don't friend people I wouldn't want around in real life. I have photos of my dogs and rabbits up there, and if anyone wants to take those....um, okay? It's helped me reconnect to people such as an old art teacher, whom I got to visit and may be seeing at her new farm this year.

Cutting down on your friend list sounds like a great idea Tiny.

I would except for the fact that I really do have family in Florida and Kentucky that I love dearly. They don't have cell phones so long distance calling isn't an option.

Same here, I have great uncles and aunts and elderly aunts and uncles and extended family members that can not afford keep calling long distance and internet is the best thing for them to keep in touch with all the family members. So FB has their reasons of how we keep in touch with love ones. The good has to outweigh the bad. If it is too bad that they drag you down or make you depressed, don't sign up.

Even BYC site is like FB but the mods are very strict on how we behave and what it is allowed. You should do the same for your own FB and if you like BYC rules, apply them for your FB too!
