Facebook users - does anyone else play "Farm Town"?

When I was starting out, I'd harvest and then sell my harvest. (I think it does not cost anything to harvest your crops.) Then I'd have cash to plow and plant.

Sometimes it is a pain waiting for jobs at the market. I have also noticed that us girls get hired more often the the boys!

I don't get the whole hiring out thing. You make more money when you hire ppl to harvest for you but does it cost you anything? I have grapes coming up in a bit and don't know if its worth it to even hire someone

It's not a logical game:

1. Your crops grow even with animals running around them. Even chickens & rabbits don't kill the crops.
2. You make MORE money when you hire people. They make money, too.

I have one crop of potatoes at 98% and 4 batches of grapes at 74%! Once I harvest them I will have some money!!
I just started farm town after I read this thread last night. Lost a batch of grapes this morning....won't do that again. It sure does not take long to spend the money on there! (Kind of like real life! LOL!!)
So, if you just hang out in the market someone will eventually hire you? Or do I have to wait for one of my neighbors that are in my face book to hire me?

I go to the marketplace when I need to hire and wait for someone to ask nicely. I hire that person. If I'm in a hurry I'll advertise that I need people but otherwise I just wait until I see good behavior & reward that.

When I'm looking for a job, I try to make up clever sayings to stick out:
"I whistle while I work, so hire me!"
"I'd be honored to click your crop."

And so on.

BTW, my FarmTown name is the same as here.
