Fair Eggs--Will they hatch?

We are approaching day 21 of our fairground egg incubation journey! If they are going to hatch, the chicks will probably emerge within the next two days or so.

Here is a picture from day 18 of the Silver Spangled Hamburg.

My broody eggs usually hatch day 18-19.

Wow! I put the eggs under my broody late at night on August 18—not sure if that would mean today is day 20 or 21. She’s still pleasantly sitting on all 4, so I’ll wait and see what happens. As of Thursday, they all looked like they were right on track for hatching, but who knows when they’ll actually come out.

Well, today will be day 21 (at the time of day you first set the egg)..... so 'late at night' somewhere around there as you put it. Did you make sure to raise the humidity?

Fingers crossed for you!

We have a hatch! Heard peeping coming from under Peaches at 5 PM—this little one was moving around, so it probably hatched earlier in the day. Not sure if any more are out yet....Peaches is being a protective, fussy mum. :)

2/4 hatched, the other two were completely flattened. Peaches must have sat on them wrong. I’m a little heartbroken because they were both coming out of their shells...but I can’t blame her for it. At least I have the other two chicks.

One week since hatching, and the chicks are doing very well! Their names are Bluebell and Buttercup, and I’m hoping they’re both “she”s. ;) Buttercup is the Silver Phoenix, but Bluebell was a mystery chicken at first. She didn’t match any of the labels on the eggs! Turns out she’s actually an Andalusian, and the egg must have been mislabeled at the fair...funny how these things work out. :)
