To quote a meme: What is this I don't even
This part right here caught my attention:

The newspaper cited a study by a Jesuit priest of a 2005 episode of the show called "The Father, the Son and the Holy Guest Star". That study concludes that "The Simpsons" is "among the few TV programs for kids in which Christian faith, religion and questions about God are recurrent themes."

For kids. For kids. FOR KIDS?!!? Have they even seen a single episode? Christian faith? If anything, it's comedy.

The Simpsons stopped being funny about nine years ago, anyway.

Yeah I reckon... but I don't think telling all the folks in their worldwide church that this is an acceptable thing for them and their kiddos, a good example... nope, still boggling... maybe they're just trying to get a piece of the action?

It is rather pathetic what people will stoop to for publicity.

Pretty sure they make fun of religion. Consistently making fun of the Flanders family.
