Wow you guys sure do have flying crochet hooks!!!!

This is certainly a swap I wouldn't want to get behind on. I do have 10 squares made, but they aren't complete. I am making squares first then going back and adding the trees to all the blocks at once.

I may need some medication though, this swap isn't even finished, I still have squares coming from a previous swap and was inspired by a new idea for another swap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(actually 2 ideas but didn't want you guys to send the white wagon after me) lol
Oh DO TELL...... Puuuuhleeeeeassssseee!

I have four complete. I did a couple of them while we drove to Lynchburg to the Jack Daniel's Distillery Thursday. Sure is nice to have a chauffeur so I can crochet. :)

Finally completely finished the NFL Blanket. Found a pattern for the border that I loved. Not sure I will ever do this one again. What a pain!

Yes, Kaussandra... tell us your ideas!!

That border may have been a big pain in the patookus, but it is perfect for that throw.

The idea I'm most excited about would be 6 inch squares w/ a black background and 2-D or 3-D flowers and/or leaves. Thought that would make the flower colors pop, and I've already drafted an idea for assembling them into a large bouquet in a vase for the entire throw/afghan.

The other idea was 8 inch blocks of red and white w/ half more white and half more red. When assembling those squares you could keep it red and white and have an afghan similar in feel to the old red work quilts, or add blue for a patriotic/amaraucana look, or add green for a holiday, or add black for a contemporary, or add pink for a sweet heart or girls or valentine, or add several primary colors for a boys look.

Oh and I forgot you could add purple for a "Red Hat" look

Those sound like pretty cool ideas! I like the flower idea, and I think I figured out what you mean by assembling to a vase shape.

So, do you think you'll be making those an actual swap?

Most likely, but probably not until the first of the new year. This swap ends at the end of Nov, and Dec is usually pretty busy for everyone, and I'll have two swap square batches to assemble. I'm thinking the flower one may be cool for the first of the year. Listen to us talking about new swaps and this one isn't even closed yet, I think we need help.

What's happening with your calves?
One is fighting a bad pinkeye infection and the other has a SEVERE case of it also. They were obviously neglected before we got them so both girls also have some naval ill going on too. They just keep scouring on me though so I've been stressing out trying to figure out what exactly the problem is and how to fix it. I am going to start a different feeding schedule tonight and see how they do with it tomorrow. I just about lost it yesterday, the worse-off girls eye's looked like they were blistering... she was so mad at me after I got new meds in her eyes and stuffed her head into a homemade Sleazy, lol.

on top of them my father just brought me a pair of bunnies... Dad: "here you go, the people couldn't keep them. there's a boy and a girl

" Me: "Great, so you just brought me 8 bunnies!

" . thankfully I had an extra cage and some supplies but I am hoping to find them new homes ASAP!

I know they have it at Joanne's.  My Michaels is pretty good but they don't carry it.  I didn't try ACMoore.

Darn, I should have tried them today but I didn't see this until tonight. At this point I may as well order it instead of wasting gas driving all over the place.

I went back and got the Red Heart with Love chocolate for the swap squares. I might end up using the soft later, but anything I send in will be the Love.

Keep those swap ideas coming.

I ordered 4 skeins of the love chocolate from JoAnns just now...it was on sale on the web only too so that worked out even better ya!! ;) Now I have all that behind me I can focus on having fun with the hook now! :D
