Mainegigi's colors sound beautiful and I'm intrigued by the wrapping.

She packed them in a shoe box,(boot box) so in order to mail that box had to be wrapped in packaging paper, and she taped it very securely, and taped the paper to the box, and taped the box closed.

I am going to try to get pics posted tonight of both mainegigi and kreativekat's squares.

Well here they are pics of the two sets I recieved this week so far.

Kreativekat, those moon and leaf blocks are just awesome.

Mainegigi's squares, the colors are really nice, even better in person. The flecks didn't show up in the pic like they do in real life.

Here is a pic of the back of the fusion blanket I will make from these swap squares. These aren't finished and this isn't all of them, just a general idea of how I plan to lay out the back.

I was going to "sprinkle" the 4 yellow squares, but looking at this I may just put them in the 4 corners.

Those are absolutely amazing. I am fascinated with the tree and leaf ones as well as the flowers. One day ... one day

They are done one stitch at a time just like the grannies. You can do a granny, so you know the stitches, it's just putting them together in a little diff. way, you are a lot closer to being able to do it then you think.

If we all took such care with things and living beings, there wouldn't be so much unhappiness in the world.

Chances of getting the block with the owl are probably pretty slim... hu?

Would the maker of this little owl mind sharing the instructions? Please?
Well there are 17 swappers and I am not in the running for the owl block since I plagerized and made one myself.

so it looks like a 1 in 16 chance. My first few attempts looked like a bat, bear, and furby, but my last one was passable.
I don't have honest instructions but can tell you generally how I did it.

I made a circle of 10 single crochets, then on the next round put 2 singles in each one for a total of 20 single crochets circle out of a light yellow/brown color (belly).

I then took a white yarn (eyes) and did 4 chains, went back into the 2nd chain from the hook and in the same chain did a single, 2 half doubles and another single, then slip stitched the next chain, then in the 4th (end) chain did a single and 4 half doubles and and other single that rounded me down to the bottom side of the original chain, did another slip stitch in the same chain I had slip stitched on the top side (the pinched spot between the eyes) then in the same chain I had put all the stitches in I put 1 single, 2 half doubles and andother single then joined it and tied it off, you should have two circles making a figure 8 looking piece for the eyes.

I placed the eyes over the light circle where I wanted them to be, then crocheted half doubles in the round circle two in each stitch, and catching the back yarn of the eyes to secure them when you get back to where you joined the eyes a single stitch, then next stitch 3 half doubles, then the next stitch single crochet, then slip stitches until you get to the same spot on the opposite side of the head and in the 3 stitches make another ear tie off, then it's just a little embroidry work for the eyes, beak, and feet.

Sorry if the instructions aren't very clear, hopefully kreativekat will have real ones to post.
