Kassaundra, the squares have left my home! Finally! The return postage is coming separately in an envelope. Sorry to everyone for the hold up!

Well here are the first couple of squares.

I appliqued the kaleidoscope pieces onto the background w/ some of it peeking through instead of piecing them as usual. My fabric is thick and when piecing them the center got way to thick to work with. They are set slightly differently on the squares b/c I learned a long time ago purposeful imperfection is much easier to attain then absolute perfection. lol Since I had several failed attempts at this I do not have enough kaleidoscopes to complete the back, but do have some of both fabrics left so I will make some coordinating blocks to go w/ these out of the same fabric.

Here you can see the stitch I used, just one that was on my machine, a machine feathered stitch. It is almost to bad that won't be seen, it will be on the inside of the fusion blanket. I chose a color that wouldn't stand out on the seen side b/c I didn't want any sewing imperfections to compete w/ the symmetry of the kaleidoscope pattern.

So very creative! That will look especially nice when the blocks are on the front. Do you do a "quilt as you go" kind of approach when sewing them together or just a yarn tie? I really like how putting the back on your other swap blocks really made them lay down. Did you accomplish that by just tying them here and there?

I used a yarn needle and yarn and quilted them. I do quilt as you go for sure. I thought about yarn tying them, but the quilting goes really fast and I think looks nicer.

So how long do your stitches end up being?
Here is a tighter shot of the stitch work, it is w/ the off white yarn.

Those stitches go all the way through the crocheted and fabric. Most of it is a basic running stitch.

I think all the crocheters that I was able to contact will have thier squares in the mail by the beginning of the week. There are 2 I have been unable to connect w/ so not sure where they stand time wise. I will keep everyone updated as we go.
