It was a horrible day. Such senseless violence.

I have bad days at work kinda like that only on a much smaller scale at times too, my dealing mechanism is to do something either creative (did counted cross stitch for a while) or in the dirt (gardening), now that I have the chickens sometimes I just take a cup of coffee and go sit w/ the chickens and watch them live thier little chicken lives.

Before I can even begin... I need to know... WHAT IS A "MAGIC RING"?

I tried some sewing last night... quilting by hand. I'm piecing some blocks for a swap that's due the end of next month and I checked and rechecked while I was working but I still sewed one side of my block on backwards! Can you believe that!? I was so aggravated. I just took it apart and set it aside. I was worthless last night.

This one is more like what I do. I do not wrap around my middle finger though... I wrap around my first finger. If you use this method of starting a square with this method, you need to make sure you sew the tail in several times to make sure it doesn't come undone in the wash. One of the groups we do donated squares for, they had gotten a square that had not been sewn in and when it was washed, the square disintegrated from the center out and it was in the middle of the blanket!

Thanks! I never use the magic circle because of that problem and I also never just join colors by working them in, I end my color, tie it off and then start the new one, I hate it when I see something coming undone that didn't have to.

Thanks for the tip on the magic circle coming apart. I was trying to make my yarn go a teeny bit firther with a new project so used the magic circle. I yanked and stretched the square to check and see if it would pull out and it didn't but I am going to re-do them anyway, I would be SO upset if it all fell apart first wash!
