Sounds like a fun group. Is any one able to join?

I am part of a group on Facebook called "Friendship Afghans". They have a swap every month. Each is a different theme and anyone can participate in as many or as few as they like. They have some really great ideas. Next month is a Birthday Gem swap... everyone is using the color of their birthstone. We have ones lined up that are hexagons and triangles so not just your typical granny's.

Bleenie... your squares are gorgeous!

I just finished another one tonight and wanted to share a picture. The pattern for this one was kind of confusing the way it was written but i figured it out and it turned out nice. My Purple Mums have just recently started blooming so I had to make the flower purple!

and this one is by far my favorite of the ones I've finished!

Is anyone planning on doing any "regular" granny squares? I was thinking of making a few but wanted to ask first =)

Wow!! Gorgeous!!!

Wow, there are some very nice squares turning out. I'd like to thank everyone in advance. There is no way I could remember all those patterns.

Bleenie - if you want to do some basic grannies that fine with me.

I had to get out of bed. I can only take laying on my back for so long. The Ibuprophen PM helps me to sleep but doesn't make me weary the next day. In fact it usually wears off and I wake up earlier.

Take care everyone and have a nice day.

Rancher glad your feeling better today, well at least maybe more rested.

I agree some very pretty blocks so far, can't wait to see them in person.

EPIC FAIL !!!!!!!!!

This poor tortured block, I keep trying to save it and it goes from bad to worse!!!!!!

Don't worry no one will be saddled w/ this poor block, I'll keep it and if I am short for my afghan I'll hide it in the back corner. Just thought I'd share that sometimes (actually a lot for me) when you are "creating" your own block they just don't work.

well ok I'll bite. I think if you used red around both corner squares then it would be ok. OR if you used four striped squares and placed them so they made an X in the middle that would be ok too. OR if you used four squares with the red or white borders to make on 12" square that would work too.

You need something to tie them all together so they look like one large square. Like a border of one color opposite the brown.

The original idea was for 4 striped squares forming a secondary pattern, and it does look like it would work, but it was intensly "wonky", this was the about 10th reworking of this infernal block, I agree the orange on both squares would have looked better, but by the time I had got that far to realize that I just couldn't bring myself to rework it yet again!

Bleenie-beautiful squares

Kassaundra-I don't hate you

Rancher-I'm glad you're feeling better

I dont' have any choice but to feel better. To much going on and when you have chickens you do what ya gotta do. Winter is coming and I gotta button things up.

Went to close things up for the night and my BM hen who had two chicks has broken. She did lay an egg the other day in the pool she is in and then last night when I went into the room she was out of the pool and squated so I could pick her up easily. Not something they are prone to do.

I still will have ten chicks to grow out in the coming months, but I don't wish to give them up. I can usually spot the roos early on.

GD has been her for four days and nights while Mom and Dad sort things out with their current living arrangement. Moving is today so hopefully things will calm down for a while. They are getting their own place finally. DW and I are very tired from lack of sleep and stress. I'm the only one who hasn't cried with this latest fiasco. DW never cries but I suspect she is just tired and run down.
She went to the store and bought some more yarn for this swap. Just the brown. How many skeins does anyone think this one will take. I've plenty of other yarn colors from previous circles.

I've been contacted today to knit two squares for the church circle. We knit square to make blankets for folks who are sick. This one is for a gentleman who has cancer.
