Fall Hatch! Anybody with me??

It looks like shipped eggs got pretty much a 50% hatch rate for us, that's not bad at all really! I have 72 Tibetan quail due November 11th, 16 Turken due November 13th, 6 Chinese geese due November 23rd, 32 Silkies & 30+ bantam EEs due November 27th/28th...whew did I forget any? Thanks Cielo, all 3 came out looking just like that chick except for the silkie that died in its shell. Looks like this thread is definitely going on until late November or early December, nothing wrong with that! Again congrats on all the chickipoos & I hope all the ones still trying to hatch make it out!

I was so happy and sad at the same time. Not being there to bond! I have a few pics of our new arrivals anyway. Enjoy BTW I'm back home and doing much better.

Hoping for the best. I've been wanting the CGs a long time. If these eggs don't work out I'll order chicks. After these eggs I'm taking a break and won't incubate until around February when it's TURKEY TIME! I'll be getting Midget White Turkey eggs and some from my sister who has a mixed flock of heritage Turkey breeds.

What are the eggs you have in now and are expecting? Did you already say?

Whoa what!? 32 Silkies and 30+ bantam EE!? You are maybe gonna drown in little chickens! There are worse ways to go... Do you use the quail for your dogs? Are Silkies your favorite? My sister used to have Chinese geese. I really like them, she did too, very pretty. She had a white male that loved her so much, it would run up to her and honk until she scratched its head and talked to him. He got Coyoted. Sad.

If I ever have a pond I'll get the White Chinese.

I'm happy this thread will be going on. It's been nice to have the support and information from y'all. I've also enjoyed getting to know a little about people, it's kinda like having online penpals! I don't have a lot of people in my life who are as excited about livestock as I am so I appreciate the company!

I am learning so much from this forum. It's hard to catch up. I looked at your coup on your BYC page. Very impressive. I have some work to do on mine, and then I am going to put another batch of eggs in the bator.

I'm getting more BBS Marans this week. Hopefully tomorrow!!

And the rest is just some more of my eggs Speckled Sussex and Golden Cuckoo Marans.

I can't wait to see how well your turkeys hatch in the spring!!
