Well I decided to not to wait till the weekend to candle. Out of the 13 BBS Marans eggs I had to cull 3. 1 had a blood ring and 2 were clear. Out of my 5 eggs 3 were clear. So I have 12 hopefully making it to lockdown!!

Sooo.... 6 California Grey eggs left that look to be developing. Gong into lockdown on Thursday. Wow, it's already here! I didn't realized it was so close.

Hooray!

I'm debating about hatching them in my Hovabator instead of my ECO 20 where they are now. The ECO 20 just looks so small. But it's my first hatch in it. I may as well just see the entire hatch through in it to the end.

As I said the Turkens are getting bigger. Starting to fly and try to perch high on top of the feeders and waterers. I do really need to move them into something larger... Tomorrow! Little rascals!

Yeah then bators away! Until... March and it's Turkey time!

Brr... My yard is covered in snow! I think it's winter now. My chicks have no neck feathers!

How is your incubator doing? I don't candle my eggs at before 7 days. It's too hard to see anything before then and it's best not to handle the eggs much at first. I'm new to incubating and I've learned that candling at about 10 days and then at 18 days before lockdown is good. You should be able to see clear/no development, blood rings/early death and/or development easily at 10 and 18 days.
I've found that trying to maintain my incubator in the 40s for %humidity works for days 1-18 and then I try and get it up to 65-70% for lockdown. It does fluctuate but I try not to worry much as long as it's in the 40s.
What kind of eggs are you trying to hatch? What kind of incubator?

Good luck!

Sheets! Where did you go? Are you buried in birds? Have your Turkens hatched?
