I didn't get mine done this last Friday so I'm working on them today. I just needed to take a break. I was working on my flying geese and thought as I was cutting the extra off, why can't I use this fabric to make the center squares. It saves on the fabric but takes up more time. I wanted to make sure I have them all the same. Ok back to work. OH as I was getting ready to get on here my son was on the internet and looking on EBay I just happened to see chicken hatching eggs so that took a couple of minutes. LOL

I have them all sewn and pressed, now just to make sure on size, as I was pressing I had a sneaking suspicion (that I really hope is wrong) that a couple may be undersized

Really hoping it is just my vivid imagination!!!!!

I may cry or drink or both!!!! Just finished measuring my squares and only 6 are right! I don't even know what I did wrong!!!! I was so careful about measuring, cutting and sewing.

Kassaundra, it may be your seam allowance. A lot of pattern call for a scant 1/4" seam. Over the course of the block, that scant really does make a difference.

I don't like to do things that tightly so I cut mine a little bigger and use a full 1/4" seam.

Well my seam allowance was off, I was doing 1/4 inch instead of a scant 1/4 inch. The first ones I did were accurate than I took a break and when I started again I was doing a 1/4 inch seam allowance!

Today w/ fresh eyes I discovered my problem yesterday w/ sizing and trimming the new blocks (1/4 square triangle blocks) was a miss mark in the ruler I was using to square them up, I was 1/4 inch off of center. Corrected for that and they are measuring correctly now.

I'm sewing like a mad woman to get the new 10 finished in time, we'll see how it goes. I have dedicated this whole day to sewing my blocks.

I've been working on the new blocks all day. I have the center squares complete on all 10 new blocks and all the fabric cut out for all 10, so now it is just piecing the flying geese and assembling.

The new yellow fabric that will be on the new blocks have writing on them, if you get one of those blocks read the writing, it is appropriate.

LOL Cathy, if you don't get one I'll let you know what it said.

The geese are hatched and flying, just not trimmed.

Ladies this broadcast of "Quilter's Street" was brought to you by the letters "S" (scant) and "P" (precision) and the number "26" (as in 26 blocks), and snuffalupagus never showed his furry face to help either!
