Fall Quilt Block Swap due October 15th

Hi,
After looking at the blocks again, I think I want to change my vote for solitaire. So do we just want to go with solitaire? This seems to be the block of choice, and then we can start playing with our color schemes? Blue being the main color, do we want to make it makers choice or go with something like blue and green? Or another color, I think I am leaning towards makers choice. My thought is I seen this deep blue and I can go with either silver specks in it or gold specks, and use a contrasting color, but I have seen green with silver specks so really anything is game. Your decision my blockers.

To put in my two penny worth...... I think we will get a much better quilt if we restrict the colours . We could choose....
Blue and green, blue and white, blue and yellow, blue and orange, blue and pink.
Any of these would work well and would still give the makers scope to make them all look different ie..
Pastel blue and pale yellow would look entirely different to navy blue and a strong yellow but the overall look of the quilt would be great.
And yes, I am watching the tennis!

My sewing machine works.


I had gone through my stash again w/o knowing the conversation that was going on today and found fabrics I really wanted to use together, and guess what, they are in the blue and yellow family.

My plan if we are doing the solitaire block is to do a set of blue / yellow family on the darker side in the center part, then to a set of lighter in the outer pointed parts.

So blockers I think it is safe to say the colors for this swap will be blue and yellows and I am going to say the Solitaire block. Wins it





Kassaundra I have you down, see it is meant to be you don't even have to buy any fabric, I think what you described for your block will be beautiful.

So now we can get started on making 16 blocks start dragging people in to join up. I really think that when everyone receives their green/white blocks and how pretty they are they will join this one.
