I have always been very interested in this topic myself. The only mushrooms we have ever collected and eaten are Morels, very easy to identify. I have lived on the Oregon coast with 110 inches of rain yearly. and in the Rouge valley, a place with Oak, Madrona and Fir and Pine, about 60 of rain a year and now the Oregon High Desert with about 12" a year and mostly Sage Brush and Cottonwood trees.The variety of mushrooms, fungi never fails to surprise me that can survive even here.
