Fallen Victim to "Ding-Dong-Ditch"

Never heard of cardboard kitty?

My brother was king of cardboard kitty. Where we lived there was a big hump in the road at the top of the hill. (ditch water went underneath the road there) You couldn't see over the top until you crested the hill. My brother made a cardboard kitty, complete with hidden wheels, fishing line and marbles for the eyes. He would hide in the ditch and pull the kitty with the fishing line. All went fine until he got busted by our mom because someone spun out on our front lawn trying to avoid the "cat".

Too funny! (Glad nobody got hurt.) Maybe cardboard kitty was a regional thing? We did the fishing line thing but it was attached to a purse we set out in the middle of the street while hiding behind bushes waiting to pull the purse out of reach for everybody that stopped to get it.

And you're from Northern CA, huh? Me too, and I just got cardboard kittied for the first time a few months ago. It was in the middle of a busy two way street... I thought it was amusing, probably because I didn't end up getting into a head-on accident.

We used to hide in the bushes and pull a big rubber snake across the road with fishing line.

It amazes me how many people will swerve to try to squash a snake, and how many people will BACK UP so they can run over it again!

I believe that!

The purse trick had people laying rubber trying to get stopped fast enough, and then again after throwing it in reverse to back up lightening fast to open their car door and lean down to try to grab it before anybody came along. Oh, the looks on people's faces when the purse moved just out of reach. Some laughed, some cried, everybody raved, lol.
