Fan or no fan?

Same here........got two 105cfm fans, and built my bator with seperate switches for both. One fan on, two fans on, no fans on........
I really built it as a safety ....... if I lose one, I still have a backup on a different circuit.

Im sure your bator has as many redundant systems as the first space shuttle Randall, they all should be built that way!!! Bill

Well Bill, ironacally, I just started posting how I built my bator on my "personal page" tonight. I've got a ways to go with lots of pics and detail (yep, I'll share

), but I think it's a good design, and it's holding 99.5 degrees +/- .2 degrees. But fans.......yes, I believe in fans to "spread the heat". Still-Air is a get-by, and I understand some can't afford or engineer the add-on, but if any way possible, get that air moving at least during pre-lockdown when development is most vulnerable.

Not a question in my mind you built a fine bator my friend... Ill be study'in it in detail if your good enough to put it out there for us to see. I have two bators runnin chukar eggs now. Maybe time for me to build a "larger model" this winter. Its good to see you pop up once and a while too. Bill

I added a fan to my incubator too, so it can be on or off by choice.
So the fan should be turned off for the last 3 days lockdown period?

The temperature is 99.5 for forced air and 101.5 for still air... so do I increase the temperature to 101.5 when I turn the fan off for the last 3 days?
