Okay, so the girls are really my wife's project, but I couldn't help but be drawn in!
We've just gone up to 7 chicks, mostly ex-industry, each with her own personality.
Anyway.. footwork. Is it just me that's noticed both of us developing an almost ballet-like precision with the feet? Pretty much wherever we go in the garden there'll be at least a couple of 'interested helpers' around our ankles.

Hi @hubrad :frow Welcome To BYC

Oh yes, you are learning that chickens love to be underfoot! LOL
Glad to hear that you have found the ladies to be enjoyable and entertaining:)

Under and ON foot! They are ridiculous. Now that I have 26, I can hardly move once I'm in the run.

LOL Yes, I think if they could get a good grip they would ride your feet when walking:lol:
I have a couple of new EE pullets that absolutely love tugging at my boot laces. One of these days, they'll figure out how to tie them together then I'll really be in trouble! :hmm

Just don't fall and knock yourself out, they will eat you! LOL

I swear, this is sort of gross, but I cut my hand a couple of weeks ago, I had a nice scab going and one of the ladies spied it. I knew what she was up to and kept pushing her back while working on something in the run, but I needed both hands!!! Well, she slipped in snatched off the scab and ran - the blood started coming, that's when suddenly all were interested and I had to beat them back :hmm I think if a peson were bleeding and unconscious, they would pick them apart :lau

They absolutely would!
I had a similar episode with a scab on my leg when I was foolish enough to enter their pen wearing shorts. THAT'S not happening again. Ouch!

Oh yeah. I definitely experience that. I have three and when I'm gathering treats in the garden (certain berries, japanese beetles, etc), they are all underfoot. Other times they will peck at my pant legs for attention and one likes to stand on my foot when I stand still.
