Fancy Guppie Breeding!

I am raising Fancy Guppies! Right now we have "Mini" (cause she's so small) and "Melville" after my favorite author "Hermen Melville.) The mommies are "Lola", "Mamie", and "Sydney". And the daddies are "Handsome", "Freddie", "Marvin", and "Buck". I'm planning on breeding Sydney and Freddie next. Mamie is due within the next week, and Lola in about two. Sydney just had Mimi and Melville on 11/29/12. We have a 5 gal. with the boys, a 10 gal. for the babies and it has two baby nets with Mamie and Lola in them, and we have a 2.5 gal. that is the breeding tank, and I'm moving Freddie and Sydney into tonight and I'm going to leave them for about a week. I'm trying to get a bluish/green Guppy. Sydney is a green & black tail, and Freddie is a dark greenish/black, with a lot of black in him, I'm hoping that the black will fade into a dark blue.

Praying she didn't get pregnant yet. (since the 29th) So she should be due around Jan. 15th. I'm thinking that Mamie is going to maybe have them tonight! She's hanging around on the bottom of the net and not eating right away like she usually does. YAY! She's breathing kinda heavy too. I think she's in labor!

Still no babies!!!!

Praying that Mamie isn't sick with Ick! That could affect her labor/delivery/the babies!

& Lola's just plain mad. (She doesn't want to be in the baby net.)
I hope they don't have them today when I'm gone!

Nice guppies! I have guppies, but I don't neccecarily breed them. I mean, every time I find a baby, I separate him. Which is why I now have 25 guppies. LOL

Yes, Sydney had two, then here she is two weeks later showing!

Nice fish!
If you have a light on that tank, you could get some hornwort and let it float. It's easy to care for, no special requirements at all, just some light. If you get enough for one corner of the tank you won't have to separate the females when they give birth unless you want to, The fry will stay in the plant until they are large enough not to get eaten. I have some floating in my platy tank and got 20 babies that grew to adult, never had to move the parent fish
