Nice fish!
If you have a light on that tank, you could get some hornwort and let it float. It's easy to care for, no special requirements at all, just some light. If you get enough for one corner of the tank you won't have to separate the females when they give birth unless you want to, The fry will stay in the plant until they are large enough not to get eaten. I have some floating in my platy tank and got 20 babies that grew to adult, never had to move the parent fish![]()
Thanks, the reason they stay separate is so I can pick which male mates with the females, I am thinking about more plants for the babies though. I am concerned even with the plant for Lola's babies, she is in the plastic floater and tries to eat Mini and Mel through the plastic. They are 2 weeks and 1 day old, but they cannot get eaten, but when she has the babies, I am afraid that she will be determined to eat them. I'm thinking that I'll just feed her some blood worms as an extra treat in the middle of the day, just in case she gets extra hungry.
