well if you WATCH the VIDEO, he took a swig of soda and spit it like a cough to figure out how far a cough goes. Then he found a spray can that shoots the same distance. The lighter fluid represents COVID germs, and if the flamethrower lights, then it means that the other person got infected. He tested different distances with and without a mask on the mannequin.
