Farm chatter

Why would you name a chicken something stupid like that? 🤨

Wasted opportunity to name something a synonym of that, a.k.a Happy. :caf
Watch your mouth young lady. That’s the rudest thing you could ever say. I’m going to have to start saying “Americana” if you don’t control yourself.

Nope, & nope. I already have a Raven.
Oh I didn't see your other post before. I have a Raven too but she doesn't look or act like you'd expect lol.

Gonna either clean out the incubator later, or tomorrow, since I don't really have the time today.
oh ok then!

Hi, everyone.
hi!
*Thinks that your pfp is a graceful duck flapping it's wings* wait no it's a banana duck that's only partially peeled!
oh wow...
yes i love it!
Anyone know of good heavy duty framing brackets? Gonna need them for the floor build, & corners of the coop framework.
sorry i dont :(
they are AMAZING @black_cat
It's the only one on page 2 that hasn't been picked. :(
oh o.O

I've got 14 sea monkeys I can see swimming around right now.

I'm thinking I may just have to clean the incubator out tomorrow.
hmm ok
@EmmaRainboe those americauanas are gunna be great
SLKDFJLSKFJ
they're good guys
but one of them does think roosters can live on just scratch
and another thinks amprolium makes eggs unsafe
but y'know no one can know everything
hUh ok
yes
Just curious....are you guys able to tell them apart or am I alone? lol
try naming them in order

1. more lighter on the chest
3. more solid coloring
2. lighting is weird i cant tell
also if you told me once i would try to remember
hmm the combs maybe?
You just looked at the leg bands didn’t you lol 😂
i culdnt really see it lol
Round Chicken has the worse selfie beak, then Poppy. You can tell that Ruth's and Tillie's have been clipped in the past, but have grown mostly back. NOw you're right lol
will the other two grow back?
In photos they look a lot alike, but in real life, they are super different. For example, Bubbles has a lazy cloaca so her but is always covered in poop. Then, Jokgu has a perfect tail and perfect feathers, but Bubbles tail is less neat, and she has a weird feather in her wing tip
oh lol
The lady who needs to be put down is now breathing really hard, I heard her breathing on the roost when filling the feeder. The pressure in her abdomen must be putting strain on her lungs, or something.
oh i'm sorry :hugs
This boy likes his butt. When he is chewing on a bone, or something he has to adjust his butt accordingly. Sometimes he will stick his butt in our faces.

One year, after coming inside from the snow, he pointed his butt in the air facing the woodstove to warm it up:lau.View attachment 2534131
LOL :gig
Okay.

It means I have a greater chance of getting more Brahma/Easter Egger crosses.
ohh ok
I miss my 24" tall, 15lbs Giant.
yeah its hard :hugs
I just entered a White House on the Hill incubator giveaway. Wish me luck lol
good luck then!
I just looked up the meaning. Apparently it does mean have luck.

I always seen lucking out as the opposite of having luck.
oh ok
yeah it is a bit confusing o.O
uhhhhhhh
1 the black parts of the hackles are more defined
if you assigned the names ill try to remember too

pheasant the one who acts like a pheasant!
I just got into an argument with my mother. She let a few former egg eating hens out of the pen they were in because the roof of the peafowl pen collapsed (long story) and we needed to move those peafowl into the pen that the hens were in. The hens that were let out true to establish their place in the pecking order. No blood, just some feather plucking. The hen literally just pulled out like 4 feathers from a silkie hen that shouldn't be even be in the mixed flock of my mother is so overprotective of her! My mother got all angry and tried to put this small barred rock hen I with two NARRAGANSETT TURKEYS WITH A HISTORY OF TRYING TO KILL MY DUCK. I told her that they'd kill the hen and she said that I shouldn't even have the hen anyway!!!!! SERIOUSLY!? Just butcher the hen yourself then if you care so little about her!!! It would certainly be much less painful for the poor thing. At that point, I snatched the hen away and put her with a different pair of chickens who WOULDN'T KILL HER. Then I confront her about that when I get back and she says "well it got you to move her." REALLY!!!?? Then the argument goes back to the same thing that all our arguments (which there have been a lot less if recently) go to which is "you need to get rid of more of your chickens!"
"I'm trying to but it's not like people want to buy chickens in the middle of winter!"
"Which ones are you trying to get rid of then!?"
Then I listed some of the birds I want to sell and she says that I need to sell most of the mix breeds and just keep the "good" "useful" purebreds. I tell her no and that I don't even need purebreds. I know that she just wants "good" eggs and sometimes "good" colors so WHY DO WE need purebreds. Her response is that people buy purebreds but not mixes. Let me just say this, I'm NOT getting rid of my mixes. I have some purebred chickens and those are all I need. At this point, I'm considering getting rid of a lot of my chickens and just keep the best ones (best by MY standards.)
The argument had stopped for a while but we were still tense and when my mother tried to get me to do everything EXACTLY her way (why do I have to feed the doves first when I already started feeding the mice!? Why do I have to check the waterers while feeding them instead of checking them while I actually have water with me!?) I'll say it now I'm too stubborn, but I'm not going blindly do as she says when I have my own ways of doing things that aren't bothering her or the animals in any way other than "her ways better" Whatever! Then while I'm breaking ice from a chicken waterer (the last one actually) she starts watering the mice! You may think "oh that's nice of her to do that for you!" No, She's not being nice! I told her that I'd do it when I was done with the chicken waterers but no the most ce can't wait another few minutes so she just has to do it for me! Then she gets mad at me because she "had" to do it for me! I NEVER tell her to do stuff for me because I KNOW that she'll always get mad at me for Not doing it! THEN WHY DOES SHE DO IT FOR ME!? So I take a little while getting ice out if the chicken waterers that doesn't mean I'm just going to ignore the mice when I'm done!

Ok now I've got that out. That's actually a really long post. Sorry...? I don't know why I want to put family drama in this nice thread so I don't know if I should post this. I'll delete it if I need too.
oh i'm sorry about it :hugs
i knew it got it when Mystery said P :tongue
I named this girl recently. Wanna take a stab at guessing it?
