Now what to do with male chicks......
Cull them all as babies? This feels a bit unfair to the chicks, but I don't think that I'd be able to find anyone that I know IRL that would want to purposely take males.
We have a long time to figure that out though. Those people you haven’t heard back from may be interested. And tons of people want free cockerels for processing.

You don't get it.....if I have chicks that can't be kept in a brooder anymore that I don't have homes for, especially cockerels that will start crowing, I'm absolutely screwed. I have a backyard to work with, one coop that only fits my four hens, and neighbors that don't want to listen to sixish cockerels crowing.

I mean you have lots of time before you even prepare the hatch to try snd figure something out. I just made a thread on it though, so we’ll see what to do.

+parents that didn't want this in the first place and are actively opposed to creating more coop space
