Does anybody have silkies? Are they really as bad of a layer as everybody says? I NEED some, but am not allowed because they are 'terrible layers'

I'm here, but not for long. I have to go help milk cows, feed heifers, and do my chicken chores and close them up. Please someone catch me up.

I think that the laying is based off of broodiness. You'll only get like four eggs a week from them otherwise though.

Makeshift roost for tonight though they all appear to have settled in for now. Moonflower did veto where I put her I shes snuggled up elsewhere now.

I have some, but my pullet isn't laying yet. I've heard they aren't good layers, but if they don't go broody you will get 5 or 6 eggs a week.
