I've mentioned it to my advisor but I didn't have time to really discuss it properly because the assembly was about to start.

I assume you have an email account that you can email your advisor with. Ask him/her if you can talk after assembly/advisory time, and discuss what’s going on. If your advisor isn’t someone you trust very much, find a teacher you do. Talk to them about it, and ask if the message can be passed on to your advisor who will hopefully take action
