it's that time of day where it's too warm to wear my chicken suit (it looks more or less like a snowsuit... weatherproof insulated onesie for my delicate self) and I have to put on pants.

No.

Layer feed & additional OS is fine. They're only taking the extra calcium when they need it.

I prefer to feed a mix of growers and layers due to the low protein percentage though.

Wow, beautiful! What is the difference between Heritage Barred Rocks & regular Barred Rocks? Or is it just the name?
I love mine, I have a picture of my Great-Aunt feeding her Barred Rocks taken in the early 1900’s.

Heritage are the Show Quality type, & are the originals.

Regular hatchery Barred Rocks are low quality, & have a rump, & usually lack nice barring.
