Farm chatter

I have a spiral egg holder. Since I have no layers at the moment, it's not on the counter. I ordered it on amazon, and it was called an Egg Skelter. (I think.) The idea is you take the bottom, oldest egg, and the rest roll down. It sort of works. I like it for the ease of storing fresh eggs on the counter, and the fact that it looks cute.
my concern is that when the eggs roll down they're going to break. BUT my girls lay tough shells so maybe not a problem.

Morning all! I sold my extra drakes earlier, and I’m getting some ducklings later. Here’s a chicken I got a picture of while he was crowing

Congrats on selling your drakes! I'd love to have ducks to eat but I'm not sure about killing something I raised. Duck is sooo delicious.

I'm headed to the feed store. I might ask if they can special order grower for me but otherwise everyone is getting layer pellets regardless of health concerns of extra calcium. The alternative is amprolium chick starter which just leads to a bunch of waste when the bits get too small or scratch which one of the guys at the store thinks is nutritious. :gig

I was originally going to eat one of the drakes, but figured I may as well try to sell him first.
