Dux are so, so ugly. But I have to get more, since I recently sold my hens last two ducklings.

Why did you sell them?

They both turned out to be drakes. Mine started laying eggs a few weeks ago, and has laid one every day since. They are fertile, but I sadly don’t have a bator or any broodies to put them in.

Are you sure they are girls? My pekin hen, and I believe pekins are one of the latest layers, started laying at 5 months.

That’s quite odd. I read that Pekins are supposed to start laying at around 8/9 months, and mine started early. Maybe yours are just late starters?

And since it's getting to be winter If i don't give them light I don't think they will lay till spring, That's what i read.
