I never free-range in the morning in case hawks are looking for breakfast. My girls are underneath trees though anyway, they don’t usually wander out into open area. One time though, I was out with them, and it as just my 3 adult hens. A hawk came over head, and the only warning where the crows chasing it off. I felt silly, but I ran with the girls to their hiding place which was right against the house next to bushes and things. Quite clever really. The crows are great here, they always chase off hawks, but I stay careful And supervise.Guess how many hawks decided to pay a visit during free range time?
What breed are the ones in the second pic? They're even fluffier than silkies!!Chicken pics. Cuz why not?
Boofy, booted bantams. As well as beach ball bantams. Also, brothers. (The cats)
Goose, a d'Uccle, is on my head in a few pics. He wanted treats LOL.
I'm always supervising when free ranging. No crows here. Luckily they were all right near their run.I never free-range in the morning in case hawks are looking for breakfast.
