Farm chatter

Welcome to the thread!
Do you lose calves often :(
Here and there. Sometimes more than one in a row. Curly's calf was dead. I tried to revive it but it didn't work. It's good when we are around when cows or heifers calve in case there are complications.

Oh definitely. We lost one of our puppies that came out while we were asleep. It could have been a goner regardless but it still felt like we failed. :( Two people were in the room with her but had fallen asleep & I was in bed because I had work early. Obviously way harder for you to be around for the cows than us for a house dog lol. Anyway, she had 9 healthy pups and the 1 stillborn so its plenty of puppies regardless. I cant imagine losing a calf though since it's the only one. :(

:love:love:love
He's such a pretty boy.
I hope my GLW grows up looking like that.
I need some profile shots of Icky.

You sure you can't ship him here? Just for a while? I want to pet him. Pleaseeeeeeeee?
I'm sure he'll be a handsome boy.

Lol can't ship him, he might not fit in an envelope, but I'll pet him for you.

Wow, beautiful! What is the difference between Heritage Barred Rocks & regular Barred Rocks? Or is it just the name?
I love mine, I have a picture of my Great-Aunt feeding her Barred Rocks taken in the early 1900’s.

You'll be reading through lots and lots of posts if you start all the way back on page 3. 😬

Yeah. It can be pretty sad. But, whatever happens, God is in control. I tend to do better with death now, than I did when I was younger.
