Farm chatter

I got a bow and arrows, which I’m really excited about! Except the arrows have blunt ends, so I can’t really shoot anything yet.
That's so cool! I asked for an archery set (I do loads of shooting at camp). There's an archery club a few blocks down from me with a hole course of different foam animal targets. Super cool.

THERE ARE FOUR OF THEM

This is the tank after I took everything out and redid it. (the substrate was bone dry and everything had to be rearranged) (they spent some time in my bathtub) The tape on the lid is holding on the plastic that I put on the mesh to help hold in humidity. We're going to petsmart tomorrow to get a heater, thermometer, hydrometer, proper water dishes, more substrate and other necessary stuff, as well as some stuff like netting and such to make the tank more interesting. You can see three of the crabs in this pic. All of the shells in there are occupied- you're supposed to have about 5 extras per crab, but all the extras that the previous owners gave us were painted, and as 3/4 are in natural shells, I'd like to try to keep it that way until I can get some other natural ones for them to move into.

That's a closer pic of 3 of them. These ones are mostly just sitting around and not doing much.

The GIANT one is in the jar- I'm going to have to rehome it, unfortunately. It really needs at least a 20 gallon tank, and I don't have enough space for anything bigger than this 10 gallon. The science house at my school (science classroom for little kids) has a snake, tarantula, frogs, turtles, and a chinchilla, so I wonder if they'd like a hermit crab. I'm still happy to care for him, but I really don't have space for him at my house.
None have names yet.
Adorable! That’s exciting!

Since I took these pictures, the big one knocked over all three fake plants, so I removed them. Then I remembered that while you're acclimating hermit crabs from a bad tank to the proper conditions, you're supposed to hot have hides, so I took out the hermie hut. I plan to put them back in later.

What were they in before?!

Same tank, but not proper conditions. The mesh lid was uncovered, meaning that there was 0 humidity, there is/was no heater, (which will be fixed tomorrow) there wasn't enough substrate (I will put the right amount after the acclimation process) not the right water system (will be fixed tomorrow) and mostly not the right food. Right now I have some banana and lettuce in there, but I'm going to get them some proper food. Generally store bought hermit crab stuff will actually kill the crab so you have to do your research and be creative with stuff lol
