Farm chatter

I knocked ice out of my birds water this morning and it was refrozen next time I checked. So I'll be doing that again in the AM.
Me to. It’s 18° here. My water trough and horse water buckets froze over and my hose which still had water in it froze to thanks to me being careless and letting the water sit inside. My chickens water froze a little before they went to bed last night. I may have broken the bucket, but I set it inside the heated tack room to thaw all night. Thanks to last nights Temperatures I’m not surprised if it’s still a solid block of ice. I was so careless and didn’t se my up any of my water heaters like I should have,. Because the days excitement got to me and I didn’t even think about the possibility of water freezing over (because it NEVER happens this early into winter)

here’s some ice from the trough last night. The ice was THICK. Maybe several inches thick. There was a lady bug trapped in the ice,. But it was actually stunning.
